Psychiatric Consultations

Psychiatric consultation offers medical interventions to address irritability, hyperactivity, anger issues, and sleep disturbances in children, promoting effective management of these challenges.

Clinical Psychologist

Clinical psychologist provides psycho-education and guidance to parents, assisting them in managing child behaviour and offering advice on nutrition and diet. This includes regular follow-up sessions and support for caregiver stress management.

RTMS therapy

Repetitive Transcranial Stimulation (rTMS) has been reported as a novel treatment strategy [Oberman et al 2016]. It has been hypothesized that TMS reduces core and associated symptoms of Autism. This method uses magnetic waves administered in a train of pulses to influence brain activity. Among these brain areas are the prefrontal cortex, dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, medial prefrontal cortex, and parietal cortex. By targeting these specific brain regions, TMS for autism can: decrease the repetition of actions. Deal with Irritation, hyperactivity and aggression behaviour.

Behavioural therapy

In Abs, we provide behavioural support through our ‘Behavioural Intervention’ program. This includes, but is not limited to, parent counselling, behaviour modification, support group sessions and collaborating with the family, teachers and other mental health professionals to design an effective intervention plan for the child. Additionally, parents are taught how to interact with their child in a positive way that is developmentally appropriate and move on to set reasonable expectations from their child. We also work on communicating these expectations, as it is essential that they be conveyed in a manner, which is understandable to the child. Parents also learn a very consistent and predictable way to follow through with set consequences when their children are noncompliant. Overall, through the Behavioural Intervention program, we aim to increase desirable child behaviours, improve parent-child interactions and bring about a positive family atmosphere, all of which aids in building an environment conducive for their child’s growth.

Assessments and Early Interventions

We administer standardized assessments for the child to get specific and accurate results and an early diagnosis can facilitate individuals getting the appropriate treatments and intervention needed for better outcomes.

School Readiness Program

School Readiness Program is designed to prepare young children for the transition to formal schooling. It focuses on developing the essential skills and abilities needed for success in a classroom setting. This program typically includes activities that enhance cognitive skills, language development, social skills, and fine motor skills. The goal is to ensure that children are well-equipped to adapt to the learning environment, follow instructions, interact with peers, and engage in age-appropriate academic and social activities when they enter school.

Special Education

Special educators across the world believe that – “If a child can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn”.

Special education refers to a range of services that can be provided in different ways and in different settings. There’s no “one size fits all” approach to special education. It’s tailored to meet the needs of students with disabilities.

Special education, the education of children who differ socially, mentally, or physically from the average to such an extent that they require modifications of usual school practices. Special education serves children with emotional, behavioural, or cognitive impairments or with intellectual, hearing, vision, speech, or learning disabilities; gifted children with advanced academic abilities; and children with orthopaedic or neurological impairments.

Our special educator is certified and trained to provide inclusive and individualized education to students with disabilities or special needs. These professionals are dedicated to ensuring that every student, regardless of their abilities or challenges, has the opportunity to learn and thrive.

Speech Therapy

Our Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) specialised in paediatrics and work with children to develop and enhance communication skills. Treatment plans for each child vary depending on age and nature of the communication issues but may include increasing expressive, receptive, speech, and oral motor skills.

In addition, speech-language therapy may focus on play, attention, and problem-solving skills to lay a strong foundation for communication development.

Our OTs are specialized in pediatrics mainly children with ASD, SPD, and similar Developmental issues, and work with families to help their children gain independence and promote the development of skills including play, self-care (dressing, feeding, grooming), and interacting with others. They work with families to develop individualized goals that help children to be more functional in their home, school, play, and community environments.
